Resort Policies

These policies are in place to ensure that all our guests enjoy their stay with us.
It is your responsibility to know them and abide by them.

RESORT, PROPERTY & CABIN POLICIES

Guest are responsible for the entire length of the original reservation.  No discounts or pro-rates for late arrivals or early departures.

Quiet Hours are from 10 p.m. – 8 a.m. Disruptive guests will be asked to leave without receiving a refund.

 

CABIN RESERVATIONS

All reservations require a 50% deposit or full payment.

Check-in time begins at 4:00 p.m. and check out is 9:00 a.m.  If necessary, feel free to check with front desk to see if a later check out is available for a surcharge.

NO SMOKING.  All of our cabins are smoke free. We have multiple areas designated outside where you may smoke. You will be assessed a minimum cleaning charge of $300 if smoke is detected in your cabin.

Replacement cost value of any damage caused to resort property will be charged to the credit card on file.  You may also be subject to an excessive cleaning charge of $200 if your cabin is found to be left in significant disarray.

We do not provide a daily housekeeping service.  Our staff cleans before & after your stay.   If you require fresh linens or towels, please bring them to the office and our staff will be happy to exchange your dirty linens/towels for clean ones.

 

RESERVATION POLICIES

 Minimun Stay Requirements

Summer rentals between Memorial and Labor day will be subject to minimum stay requirements based on the unit.  Cabins, hotel rooms/suites, and studio/park model units each have unique stay requirements.  Please call the resort for questions when making your reservation.

During the off season, cabins and rooms may be subject to a minimum stay requirement of at least two-nights. 

Hotel rooms require a two-night minimum on weekends.

Deposits and Payments

A deposit 50% is required for all reservations. Deposits can be made in advance by cash, check or credit card.  The balance will be due at check in. Reservations are subject to processing, resort and lodging fees

Cancellation Policy

Appeldoorn's Sunset Bay Resort must be notified in advance for all cancellations.

• Cancellations prior to 90 days out will not be charged a cancellation fee.

• Cancellations 30 - 90 days prior to the reservation will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee.

• No refund will be available with less than a 30 day notice, and you will forfeit your 50% deposit.

Guest Registration

Upon check in you may be required to provide a ID to the front desk personnel.  We will also need your vehicle information including license plate number at that time. 

All members of your party will need to be registered at check in for resort and insurance purposes.  Room rates are based on bedroom occupancy; additonal guests will be charged $25/night.

 

RESORT AMENITIES

Please park in designated areas only.  Due to safety concerns, parking is NOT ALLOWED on the side of the road by cabins 3 & 4 that runs to the beach.

Lifejackets are required on all paddleboats and kayaks, canoes or jet ski rentals.  The state of Minnesota requires that anyone under the age of 10 MUST be physically wearing one.

Our room towels are not to be used as beach towels.  Beach towels are available for purchase in the gift shop.  A fee of $30 will be charged to your credit card on file if room towels are found to have been brought to the beach.

Our Beach is for registered resort guests only.  Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult.  No lifeguard on duty.  Swim at your own risk.

Our beach is private property, as is our neighbors.  Please respect their privacy and DO NOT TRESPASS on their property (lawns, docks, etc).

ATV’s and UTV’s cannot be ridden on resort property other than directly to or from a marked ATV trail. They should be stored on their trailer.  Area trail maps are available at the office.

Campfires are only allowed in our designated fire pits.  For the safety of all our guests we do not allow any fires on the beach.

  

PET POLICY

Dogs are allowed at the resort but are subject to certain fees and restrictions. Dogs must not be over 30 pounds in weight (unless receiving prior approval from management), kept on leash at all times, picked up after, and not left unattended in cabins.  There is a dog park available for guests to exercise their pets.  Dog swim hours run from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. every day of the week. Dogs must always be leashed while on resort grounds with the exception of our pet swim hours. 

Pets will be assessed a $40 per day, per pet charge. Or $200 per pet, per week.

We ask that your dog is pet and people friendly & up to date on vaccinations and flea preventative.

Please pick up after your dogs.  There are several pet stations with bags located on the resort grounds.  Disruptive dogs will be asked to leave without receiving any refund. 

No cats allowed on property or in rooms.

 

BOAT DISCLAIMER

If bringing a boat, parking directly next to your unit cannot be guaranteed.  Parking spots for your boat may be available in areas under surveillance, however leaving them unattended is done at your own risk.  Appeldoorn's is not responsible for theft or damage to boats.  Please plan accordingly.
